Notting Hill Terrace

A new build terrace infill in place of a two-storey cottage in Notting Hill. The contemporary façade of stacked stone columns is conceived to echo the variety of vertical glazing bar patterns of its neighbours and allow the passage of light through the building onto a north-facing cottage opposite, so as to reduce the impact on their daylight and sunlight. Behind the façade the building steps back at the upper levels to reduce its visual mass and further increase its transparency.
