Putney

A grand house on a wide tree lined street cut into unremarkable apartments. We removed all doors and frames, all skirtings and architraves and made openings run from floor to ceiling and to line through with window openings to create long, uninterrupted views throughout. What remains is light and airy. The simplicity of each space is softened by rich wood cabinetry and warmed by lighting that echoes the sunset as it dims. Artworks by Lucio Fontana, James Turrell and Wassily Kandinsky are referenced in the detailing of each space.
